Clinician in an outpatient county contracted mental health agency. Services provided in the home, school, and in the community. Case load includes at risk adults, children, adolescents, and their families. Provide counseling and coordinate with school staff including school psychologist, school counselors, and teachers to discuss client’s progress towards treatment goals. Coordinate with staff and teachers to implement interventions in the classroom setting. Provide services throughout Long Beach Unified and Bellflower Unified School District including elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools. Provide family therapy and parenting skills education to parents. Assist parents in advocating for their child’s academic needs by collaborating with school staff and attending SST and IEP Meetings. Maintain clinician documentation including enrollment paperwork, thorough clinical assessments and diagnosis, development of treatment plans including measurable goals, termination summary and progress reports, and session notes. Administration and interpretation of psychological assessment tests and outcome measures. Complete thorough suicidal, homicidal, child abuse, and risk assessments. Collaborate with agency psychiatrist and county social workers. Provide linkage and referrals to community resources to assist clients and their families with increasing overall functioning and meeting their mental health goals. Referrals include but are not limited to extracurricular activities to improve social skills, grief support groups, parenting classes, substance use and domestic violence classes, housing referrals, and legal aid referrals.

Attend monthly staff meetings at Bellflower Unified School District to make agency announcements and work in collaboration with school staff to refer students for treatment. Screen referrals by calling parents to assess needs, symptoms and behaviors, and determine preliminary treatment model. Explain mental health services and evidenced based treatment models that agency provides to parents and school staff. Conduct presentations to school staff and explain services offered by ChildNet and treatment process. Conduct mental health trainings to school staff in Bellflower Unified including school case managers and teachers in order to increase awareness of mental health and impact of trauma on students.

Intake Clinician/MAT Assessor: October 2014- April 2015

Intake Clinician/ MAT Assessor (Multi- Disciplinary Assessment Team) in an outpatient county contracted mental health agency. Case load included children, adolescents, and families. Completed comprehensive assessments of children who have been detained through the Department of Children and Family Services and provided them with linkage to mental health agencies near their placement. Presented a case summary of findings report for the Department of Children and Family Services for youth entering out of home placement. Collaborated with teachers, social workers, dependent investigators, teachers, psychiatrists, public health nurses, and foster parents to ensure client’s needs are being met. Trained through DMH in assessment of young children and infants (ICARE) and D-03 Diagnostic Manual.

Frances Smith Center for Individual and Family Therapy: Orange, CA

Completed one-year practicum in an outpatient community-based mental health clinic. Case load included adults, couples, children, adolescents, and families. Provided one-on-one behavior therapy to children with Autism in home and school settings. Worked in Chino Valley Unified School District in a moderate to severe Autism Classroom.
